The Week of March 21st

Good morning, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful, restful weekend!

Now back to work!

Monday, March 21st:

The first day of Spring! Your journal entry will be: Imagine that Spring is a person. Describe what s/he looks like as s/he enters today. Imagine that Winter is a person. Describe what s/he looks like as s/he leaves.

Because everyone loves the story sooo much and we can never seem to get through it, today we will just read THE BLUEST EYE. Don't forget your reading log.

Tuesday, March 22nd:

Shortened day! Vocabulary test over Unit Six! Brief jeopardy game to prepare us for the test.

Wednesday, March 23rd:

I may not be here today. I may be on a field trip - which some of you may be going on. If so, I will assign Vocabulary, Unit Seven which will be due on Tuesday, March 29th, and some much loved grammar over participial phrases, which will be due on Friday, March 25th.

Thursday, March 24th:

We will go over Unit Seven and the grammar in class together to make sure we all understand it. Then we will read THE BLUEST EYE. Don't forget your reading log.

Friday, March 25th:

We will do "The Hand!" journal. That sounds ominous, doesn't it? But if you have been in my class before, you know what that is - draw an outline of your hand and then, without revealing which character you are doing from the book, fill in the outline with symbols associated with that character. Then we will share.

Then we will read THE BLUEST EYE! Don't forget your reading log - which is your personal diary, journal or dialogue you are sharing between yourself and the book.
